Blogging for the Sake of Blogging
I know that this website is fundamentally anti-clutter, and I appreciate that a lot. I think that the modern internet is full of unnecessary bloat. (Though, I do think some bloat is good. The internet is meant to be a fun, interesting place, in my opinion.)
Personally, on this blog, I blog for the sake of blogging (challenge--count how many times I say blog/blogging in this post!), as it's something I enjoy doing even if I don't have a 'real' reason to do so. Nobody reads my blog other than me, so it's not like I'm writing for others. But maybe writing for myself is reason enough?
I don't find that blogging particularly helps as a coping mechanism for me. It's just a hobby that I enjoy without reason. It's an outlet, yes, but not one that I think is specifically necessary for me. I like getting my thoughts out 'there', wherever 'there' is, considering it's not the Discovery page, search engines, or even my peers. For me, 'there' is just somewhere. Having what I think and believe recorded and written (typed?) down on a site that's built to last for a long time might be good for future me, so I can see how I've changed over time. It might even be good for current me.
